The network of sensor nodes provides significant ways to improve dependability, e.g. by re-routing when a certain node becomes exhausted, so that the system can still can work reliably. However, the network itself also needs to be built in a way that its mechanisms provide a high level of dependability. We will investigate, simulate and develop networking means that are extremely reliable and thus increase the dependability of the complete system. We intend, for example, to investigate means for improving the reliability of existing network protocols which currently can be fouled easily.
