On top of the sensor network, dependable services that provide, e.g., robust data storage, easy maintenance or real time queries need to be developed. Those services may on the one hand exploit dependability of sensor nodes and the network, but also need to provide their own means, e.g. providing redundancy. Some services, such as a network-wide energy management, will mainly be investigated, specified and realized with the primary goal of improving the dependability of the system. Network coding as a prominent technique will be investigated to store sensed data replica more reliable in WSAN.
